Nature is meant to be played with

Simple Organic asked an interesting question in a recent post: what’s your favorite outdoor activity? Being from California, I spend a lot of time outdoors – surfing at the beach, hiking in the mountains, cycling through the canyons…
This week, however, I’ll be in the Northeast, where the weather is colder than I’m used to. My initial reaction is to stay indoors and enjoy Nature through a window with a steaming cuppa in hand, but I’ve discovered that I miss so much when I do that!
The cold humidity and leave-free branches inspire me in a way that is so different from the scenery I’m used to at home. Walking along the river, breathing in the crisp air and seeing flocks of geese overheard reminds me there are still products for me to develop. I notice some of the native plants that are still green (or, green-ish) and get great ideas from them.
Wonder what new item will be the result of my trip back East this time?

December is here and snow ski season approach ever more closer. Despite the cold weather, the Sun (and high altitude) will work its magic on facial area's. Lip balm or moisterizer is good to bring along on a trip. Also, you do tend to "heat-up" when coming down a few thousand feet of vertical mountain. Hands do get a bit dry. So it is a great idea to pack a few of these items to take with you. Especially when skiing in remote area's with limited shopping opportunities.

LikeThe sound of the river right before it freezes is always a treat in the winter time. Then, when it does freeze, sometimes you see procrastinating geese skating on it...makes me laugh!
